Local resource provided via Centerstone (previously Burrell/Preferred Family)
Carisa Kessler from Centerstone Crisis Assist Team. She is based out of Columbia but her team provides support to the entire North Central Region for Centerstone (Burrell and affiliated companies). Carisa also oversees the Community Behavioral Health Liaison (CBHL) position which is a unique role that helps to connect anyone in need to a variety of resources and supports (not just Burrell but other resources for mental health, general healthcare needs, basic needs for food, clothing, shelter, etc.). Both parts of Carisa's team have also provided some training and support/debriefing to our teams internally as well as to some area agencies (law enforcement, first responders) in the past. Also, a reminder of our Crisis Hotline: 800-935-2132 and Behavioral Crisis Unit at the Stephen's Lake Location: Crisis Intervention Center | Crisis… | Burrell Behavioral Health (also under Carisa's department). We are currently working on a similar program for youth and have our Intensive Outpatient Program for youth already implemented in Boone County. If you want more youth specific information, I can connect you with the Director of Youth Community Services as well. Obviously this is still a distance from Randolph CO but some exciting opportunities are coming besides hospitalization for the general area!
